Marganai: the San Benedetto spring and Punta Sa Perdiassa

The Marganai is the wooded massif behind Iglesias, and San Benedetto, at 375 m, is the handiest gateway. The loop leaves the village, passes the spring of the same name and climbs forest tracks through holm oaks to Arcu de Perda and Cuccuru Contu, where the woods open onto the peaks of the Iglesiente.

The final leg crosses Punta Sa Perdiassa and drops to the San Benedetto necropolis before returning. Most of the way is on forestry tracks with a few steep path sections: the challenge is distance and climb rather than terrain. Check for forestry closures before you go.
