Cortina d’Ampezzo
Conca ampezzana · Dolomiti · Veneto
Tofane, Cristallo and Cinque Torri a bus ride away: the Ampezzo basin has trails for every level plus the old-railway cycleway.
Cortina is an open basin at 1,224 m ringed by the Tofane, Pomagagnon, Cristallo, Sorapiss and Croda da Lago. As a base its strength is the summer bus network to the passes (Falzarego, Tre Croci, Giau) and the variety: easy valley walks, classic hikes and routes for experienced walkers.
The Long Way of the Dolomites, a cycleway on the old railway towards Dobbiaco and Calalzo, is the simplest ride. Mountain bikers have the basin’s numbered circuits and lift-served freeride trails.
